I just think the 4th of July isn’t a southern California holiday if that makes sense? It’s for small towns in New England and beach days on Cape Cod where the water is still icy. It’s a summer celebration and y’all have summer all the time any way.

I think you are 100% right. It's really not a socal holiday! We excel at other things this is just our flop event lol. Perhaps next year I will make everyone head to the east coast

Your intro gave me so much nostalgia 😄 of my own experiences. I love the beach and will make any excuse. But July 4th on the West side was definitely a bit trying!

Boating for the 4th is always the answer. Before we had our little guy, we did kayaks on the river where they set off our fireworks. Now we pontoon until he's old enough to kayak himself!

That sounds perfect!! It really is all about being on the water. But that can be such a big task haha

Just had this conversation with a friend this afternoon. Hosts can make the day too long. I don't need to be at your house for six+ hours.

Completely agree!! It’s too much. We need to start the 4th of July at 6pm with apps and go into dinner like normal!

Couldn’t have said it better myself! 4th of July is always the holiday that leaves me feeling my worst (was also the day of the worst relationship fight of my life years ago 😅). For those of us who grew up in beach towns, it’s the most anxiety inducing day! The red white and blue aesthetics are cute though

I'm cracking up!! I'm so glad I'm not alone in these feelings and also having a the worst relationship moments on the 4th. It's not funny, but it's a little funny now. I think the other comment is so true-- it's just not a socal holiday!
