Keep reading for a sample platter of listings live on Poshmark right now (or at least at the time of me publishing this!) that I love but cannot/will not be making any offers on because I recently quit my job (more to come on that soon).

I used to spend hours at the Forever21 in our local mall. Alone or with my sister, I would zone out completely and scan the racks and rooms methodically hunting for pieces that felt unique and cool to me. One day, sometime after graduating college, I walked into a Forever21 and suddenly hated everything I laid my eyes on. It all seemed cheap and ugly and the prices weren’t as fair as I remembered. Malls were dying, I was aging out of my favorite store, and I didn’t know where to turn.

At that time, I really couldn’t afford to buy new clothes at all, which was fine because my waitressing job had an all black uniform and I typically came home covered in buffalo sauce anyway. When I worked at Glossier, I spent my days in a pink jumpsuit. It was when I got my first job in an office that I realized I had to step things up a bit.

Most of us are familiar with the term “fast fashion” at this point, and while I have some complicated feelings about it (it shouldn’t be a moral dilemma if you are unable to afford clothing made more ethically that often comes with a hefty price tag!), I did look at the Forever21/H&M/sometimes even Zara pieces disintegrating after a few spins in the washing machine and think to myself, “there has to be a better way.”
