The Funniest Comments on My Semi-Viral Video Crying About Chili's
If we don't laugh we'll just cry more
On Saturday, July 12th, I had grand plans of going to see Superman after a romantic dinner at Chili’s with my husband. I was giddy about our date night (I genuinely love Chili’s), so you can imagine how upset I was when I started to feel really bad as our date night was rapidly approaching.
These last few weeks of pregnancy have been a rollercoaster, and my body feels like it’s on the brink of giving out on me. I can’t even remember what it was like to sleep without groaning and peeing five times a night. Emotionally, I’m feeling so all over the place. On the one hand, I am just euphoric at the thought of our little lady’s arrival, but I’m also keenly aware that my life, our life, is about to change dramatically. It won’t just be us, and date nights will likely be fewer and farther between.
All this to say, I cancelled, sent my husband to the movies alone, decided to whip out my camera and share my thoughts with my TikTok audience and accidentally started crying again. Not one to typically cry online, I decided to post anyway because it was so ridiculous and I thought it was kind of funny, even in the moment. Little did I know it would resonate with so many women. I received some of the kindest, most supportive comments I’ve ever read online— so many moms and other pregnant people reminding me that this is temporary, date nights would in fact occur again, and this would all be a hazy pregnancy blur one day soon. It genuinely made me feel better.
But then there were other comments that really just made me laugh out loud. Typically from other gals in the thick of their hormonal journey with me. I want to share the laughs with you here because it’s a good reminder that pregnancy is an absolute trip, and sometimes you have to cry and then laugh at yourself.
A special shoutout to the partners riding these waves alongside us, know that we also feel insane.
And a reminder for everyone else, when you see a woman sobbing at Costco, Home Depot, Chipotle, or anywhere else…. no you didn’t!!!

I stood in my kitchen and cried when I dropped a napkin on the floor and my then-3yo didn’t come when I called for her to pick it up.
(I was 38+wks and my husband was at work. It was also like the 3rd time I had dropped something on the floor that morning.)
